The Embedded PLC Application Kit enables a Rabbit 3000 based single-board computer to be programmed using a standard software environment that is commonly used to program PLC's (Programmable Logic Controllers). Design engineers in automation and control applications can now make use of more cost effective hardware solutions from Rabbit, while maintaining their software development under the international standard IEC61131-3.

Machine control in applications such as factory assembly lines, often make use of industrial programming languages such as; Sequential Function Chart (SFC), Function Block Diagram (FBD), Ladder Diagram (LD), Structured Text (ST), and Instruction List (IL). The Embedded PLC Application Kit supports all of these languages included within the IEC61131-3 specification, plus adds support for the additional industrial language of Flow Charts (FC). Included in the kit is the ISaGRAF V3.50 Workbench (32 I/O package included), which has been ported to support select Rabbit hardware platforms.

The Embedded PLC Application Kit gives you everything you need to get started programming a Rabbit Semiconductor SBC with the ISaGRAF PLC programming system. Included in the kit is the BL2500, an advanced single-board computer that incorporates flash memory, SRAM, digital I/O ports, analog I/O, RS-232/RS-485 serial ports and a 10/100baseT Ethernet port. The BL2500 single-board computer provides control and automation engineers with a powerful and low-cost embedded solution, suitable for high-volume applications such as factory equipment control, access control, HVAC, and vending machines. The BL2500’s compact board size of 100 x 100 mm is easily mountable in standard 100 mm DIN rail trays. External connections are provided via polarized friction locking connectors, enabling rapid assembly using wire harnesses.
